Our Story

Ever think about what you would tell your younger self?

Maybe you’d tell her to speak up. To stop saying sorry for wanting more. To love herself without waiting for someone else’s permission.

Dear you,

Wanting more for yourself gets a bad rap. It shouldn’t. Wanting more is how you know you’re still in there.

Think back to when you were little. You said what you thought. You wanted what you wanted. You didn’t say sorry for taking up space.

But things changed.

Somewhere along the way, you picked up a rulebook nobody handed you. Be nice. Ask for less. Settle down. Put everyone else first.

And the rules only seemed to apply to you.

He speaks up, he’s confident. You speak up, you’re bossy.
He’s single at 40, he’s a catch. You’re single at 40, people ask what went wrong.

He doesn’t want kids, nobody blinks. You don’t want kids, you’ll change your mind.

He asks for a raise, he’s ambitious. You ask, you’re difficult.

Same choice. Different rules.

Your family went along with it. So did your friends, your boss, and your feed. Most of them didn’t even mean to.

After a while, the rules stopped feeling like rules. They started feeling like walls you can’t see. Something you tiptoe around, not something you question. Rather than live your life, you manage it.

That’s the glass cage.

And yet, you’re still in there. The girl who said what she thought didn’t go anywhere. She’s just buried under years of other people’s expectations.

That’s why we started ProjectPinkOwl. We make entertainment for women who are done living by rules they never agreed to. We call out double standards plainly, so you can see them for what they are. Sometimes you’ll laugh. Sometimes you’ll get mad. Either way, you’ll start to see the cage.

Once you see it, you can walk out.

And the way out starts with one thing: loving yourself.
Not after you earn it. Not when someone says you’re enough. Now.

You spent years loving everyone else first. It’s your turn.

Think about what you’d tell your younger self. Now tell it to yourself.

ProjectPinkOwl is our love letter to you. Now go write your own.

With love,
The ProjectPinkOwl Team
